I have a devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, particularly during the month of June. I've had this home decor piece in mind for a few weeks now.
I think a quick explanation might be helpful.
The Cross: It symbolizes the ultimate sacrifice of love for humankind.
The Crown of Thorns: The suffering and agony of the Lord in His Passion and Death.
The Flames: The heart that burns with love for all humanity.
The Wound and The Blood: His side pierced on the Cross and His blood shed for us.
I used watercolor paper and a watercolor wash for the heart and flames. The cross can be found in the Hope & Prayer stamp set. My 'crown of thorns' is a die in the Full Basket die set (page 35 in the 2022-2023 annual catalog).
