It's time for another birthday card! Do you receive my weekly newsletter? I share a unique project every week to inspire you. Please follow this link to subscribe.
I send birthday cards to my siblings, parents, in-laws, nieces, nephews and their children, and a few others. That's a lot of cards, so I like to purchase birthday themed stamp sets. My newest one is Cake Fancy. You get to build a birthday cake with stamps and ink! I definitely has fewer calories than a real one! LOL
When creating this card, I tried a few different colors for my cake before I settled on Petal Pink, Pecan Pie and Smoky Slate (cake stand, to make it look like silver).
Other notes: The candle was too tall for my circle die cut, so I used a scrap to mask/shortened my candle. That way the flame would be on the circle.
I often stamp then die cut, but here I started with the circle die cut. I stamped the cake stand first, building up the cake from there. After stamping the icing (in Petal Pink), I stamped the flame at the very top of the circle. The last thing I stamped was the candle itself.
I'm including this photo to show how I coordinate the inside of my card and my envelope. Do you stamp those?
