May Birthday Cards

When planning for my annual catalog kick-off, I asked what color I should pair with Shy Shamrock.  In my Shy Shamrock video, I paired it with Garden Green and Granny Apple Green.  It was also suggested that I pair it with Pretty Peacock.  Here are the cards I've made using Shy Shamrock and Pretty Peacock.

This card has Lots of texture on it.  The Shy Shamrock on the background is dyed embossing paste.  The Pretty Peacock leaf images are just stamped.

On page 127, Stampin' Up! shows using our embossing paste with a DIY mask.  I did the same using the Perennial Lavender dies.

I used the 2 on the top in the middle.  I colored my embossing paste with Shy Shamrock ink refill.  I did let it dry overnight before stamping over the embossing.

After making the background for that first card, I had remaining colored embossing paste, so I just smeared it on a piece of Basic White cardstock and used the leaf image from the Simply Zinnia stamp set and stamped directly in the wet paste.  I did not ink the stamp, although I could have.

Here is my z-fold card.

For my final card, I again made my own mask using the smallest Perennial Postage Dies and using a Blending Brush and both Pretty Peacock and Shy Shamrock ink, created my background.

Can you see on the inside of this card?  I lightly brushed ink with the same mask.

Using the 'dearest friend' sentiment, I could use this card for a birthday, get well or sympathy card.

I love trying new color combinations!  I hope you'll try this one soon.

Happy Stampin'!
