June 2024 Christmas Card

I am so anxious to get new Christmas products!  It's getting more and more difficult to create Christmas cards each month with the current products I have.  Our Online Exclusives being added to the store on July 3, 2024 are a start.  The Frosted Forest stamp set and coordinating dies and masks were used for my second card today.

In my video on June 24, 2024 I mentioned embossing on the enamel effects background.  I'm not real pleased with this card; I wish I had embossed 'merry, merry, merry' in white instead of black.  But since I told you I'd be showing you....

My gold swatch was created using a palette knife and the gold Metallic Enamel Effects.  After letting it dry, I embossed using Versamark ink and black embossing powder.  The dies for the evergreen, leaf, and berry pieces are in a new bundle Winterly Tree Tops, that will be in the September-December 2024 mini catalog.  I was able to purchase it early to use during Creativity Now, a demonstrator-only, stamping-only event that Stampin' Up! held virtually on June 22, 2024.

My colors above are Old Olive and Real Red.  I added a bit more color to the Old Olive cardstock with a blending brush before die cutting the sprigs.  The Rhinestone Basic Jewels were colored with Real Red Blends alcohol markers.

This second card uses some NEW Online Exclusives that will be available on July 3, 2024 and some retired sentiment stamps.  (I'm waiting for new sentiments, but you may have a few favorites already.)

The Frosted Forest bundle will be available July 3 and includes a stamp set, die set AND mask set.  To create the evergreens, I stamped in green ink (Old Olive, I think), then used 2 of the 3 masks to color with Old Olive and Shaded Spruce inks with a Blending Brush.  With the third mask, I used Wink of Stella trying to add 'snow' to the trees.  I took this second photo close up to show you that.  My other idea is to use the third mask with embossing paste to add a more 3D snow effect to the trees.

My Night of Navy background was created after I stamped and colored the trees.  I hand cut a hill shape using our Masking Paper.  I also die cut 3 small trees using our Masking Paper.  (There is a larger evergreen tree in the bundle.)  Using Night of Navy ink and a Blending Brush, I swiped from the bottom up, over and over to create the night sky.  The 'stars' were created with watered-down White Craft Ink.  I made splatters by tapping a brush over my stamped/colored panel.

I can't include a link to the new products until they are available to everyone.  I'll try to remember to update this blog post later.

NOTE:  The Frosted Forest bundle includes the masks.  I have reached out to Stampin' Up! suggesting they make that more obvious.  (It is in the description of the bundle;  that's how I knew not to order them separately.)

Frosted Forest available July 3, 2024!

White Craft Stampin' Ink Refill:  used to create my 'stars'

The O Holy Night sentiment is from the retired stamp set, Night Divine.  As a demonstrator, I'll learned what's coming in the September-December 2024 mini catalog on July 24th.  One of the MANY perks of being a demo!

Until next month!  Happy Stampin'!
