I made 2 fun fold cards during my Monday, June 10th video using the Unbounded Love bundle. The bundle is on sale through the end of June (2024). While it's usually 10% off the price of the stamp set and dies, the bundle is 20% off this month!
Here's how you can make these cards yourself using any products you have on hand.
Gatefold Plus Card
I show in my video that you could create several different cards using this card layout starting with a basic gatefold card. I'd probably change the orientation to landscape for a basic gatefold card. Your second stepped up cards could be just adding the 4" X 5-1/4" piece on the front and turning it as I have here, but I love the final card with the 'latch' holding the card closed.
To make the card, you'll need:
--4-1/4" X 11" cardstock, score at 3" from one end (I made this the top) and 2-1/2" from the other end (this is the bottom of my card).
--DSP: 4" X 5-1/4": Adhere to the top flap only (be sure to NOT adhere your card closed!)
--DSP: 4" X 2-1/4" for bottom flap
--Decorative Element to hold your card closed: a punch or die cut works well, but even a rectangle or square of cardstock would work. To adhere in the exact place, close the card and adhere the element on the top only so the bottom flap will tuck underneath it.
I usually adhere a 4" X 5-1/4" (or in this case, a 3-4/5" X 5") white, vanilla or beige piece inside my cards.
A few tips:
-Use adhesive sheets with narrow die cuts like these from Unbounded Love.
-Let your Designer Series Paper determine your color scheme! I had not used Pretty Peacock with the Unbounded Beauty DSP before now.
-Be careful where you put your adhesive! Don't adhere your card shut! AND leave space under your element for the bottom flap to tuck under it.
-----------------------------------------------------
Onto the second card! Again, there are so many options for this card layout! Widen or make the flap narrower, depending on what you will be putting on/in it. Move the flap to either side, especially if you have stamped the 4" X 5-1/4" layer and want to show off your stamped image(s). I really liked my suggestion of using a watercolor wash background piece instead! When I start making backgrounds, I usually have so many of them!
Flap Card
--Card base: I used 4-1/4" X 5-1/2" piece of cardstock. (You could use a full card base of 8-1/2" X 5-1/2" folded in half to create a 4-1/4" X 5-1/2" card.)
--Layer: 5-1/4" X 4" (I used DSP)
--Flap: 8-1/2" X 3-1/4", scored at 4-1/4"
--Layers: 3" X 4" DSP (front of flap)
-- 3" X 4" cardstock (inside flap
Adhere the large DSP piece to the card base.
Adhere the flap over the DSP. I centered it on my card.
Adhere the DSP on the flap and the white layer under the flap.
Embellish as you'd like! I added very little, letting the DSP do the work for me!
We'd love to see you what you create! You can post a photo in my Facebook group, Sue's Stampin' Chat.
Happy Stampin'!
