Book Binding Z-Fold Card

I am not sure where I first saw this fun fold card, but I've been using it a lot lately!  If this was your design, please let me know and I'll give you credit for it.
UPDATE:  I discovered that it is a Terri Gaines' swap card that I measured.  I don't have her card to share... sorry.

This card was created using the April Sales Challenge Designer Series Paper, Cottage Rose.  My stamp set and punch are the Labeled with Love bundle.  I did fussy cut the floral sprays and butterfly.

Want to make your own book binding Z-fold card?  Here how.

  • Start with a 5-1/2" X 8-1/2" cardstock base.  Score (on the 8-1/2" side) at 1-3/4", 3-1/4" and 4-1/4".
  • Fold on all of these lines.
  • Adhere the 1" section closed, making a standard book binding card.
  • Fold back the right side creating the Z-fold portion.
  • For the layers, I used Basic White 2-3/4" X 5-1/2" and Designer Series Paper 2" X 5-1/2".
  • Inside I have modified this to 2-1/4" X 5-3/8".  In this sample I used Pretty in Pink cardstock.

When you adhere the 2-3/4" X 5-1/2", fold the z-fold back (to the left) and adhere the cardstock panel even with the left edge.  This will put the white panel in the middle of the card.

NOTE:  I will update this blog post with these 2 additional cards after my Stampin' Up! event this weekend.  AND Here they are!

This was my shoe box swap on August 3rd with other demonstrators.  We used the Unbounded Beauty DSP and the Labeled with Love bundle and the bough punch.  I offered vellum to use with the bough punch as well.  That was a fun alternative.  We used the Iridescent Faceted Gems for our embellishments.

This was my general swap for a demonstrator-only event here in Minnesota on August 4th.
I again used 2 patterns from the Unbounded Beauty DSP.  The flowers are in the Spotlight on Nature stamp set.  The flowers were stamped in Basic Gray and colored with a water painter and Pretty in Pink and Pretty Peacock ink.  They were then fussy cut.  The ribbon is the Silver & White Sheer Ribbon.  I left the inside blank on these.  Then they could stamp inside for any occasion.

Happy Stampin'!
