For this month's 10th day blog post, I'm sharing some Paper Pumpkin alternatives. I'll start with the cards as they are suggested in the kit. I find it fascinating that taking a photo of a card (or any project) changes how I see it. I love the cards in the promotional photos, but seeing them in person, I decided I wanted to try making alternatives. I had seen someone post an alternative that used the Spring Corner stamp set, so I actually purchased that same stamp set and I'm glad I did! It's an amazing stamp set and has a great coordinating die set. The dies could be used separately as only 2 dies cut out images in the stamp set, the heart and the flowers. I'll include photos and links below.
For this first set of cards, I altered the background. I stamped dots, added a fern from the coordinating 4th Quarter Paper Pumpkin Dies, Merry Tags & More. For the first card, I die cut the fern using Basic Beige and added Mossy Meadow ink with a blending brush.
Here I added Mossy Meadow ink to the vellum leaves.

How about adding Blackberry Bliss ink to our card base?
Or some Mossy Meadow ink?
And finally, I used pieces of the kit in various ways, by cutting apart a card base or adding another cardstock layer.
I used the fern die as a mask to create the inked images on my tag here. It adds texture and interest without adding layers. I wish the dots were lighter; I could have stamped them off to get lighter dots.
Here I used 2-tone cardstock and tore it. I only had Garden Green paper at the time, so it doesn't exactly match the Old Olive and Mossy Meadow in the kit, but I wanted to try this technique.
I didn't have a fern left from the kit for this card, so I die cut them myself.
For this card, I use markers on the floral stamp in the Queen Bee stamp set and the Spring Corner die set for the added details to this card.
As mentioned above, I used these products on many of these cards.
